What is hard work? Hard work is a willingness to go the extra mile. Hard work is the person who perseveres when others are giving up, and it is mostly a thing of the mind.
All great people had to weather their share of storms and adversities. It is the attitude of a man in difficulties that makes him who he becomes. Hard work is a character building process. It is what removes the impurities and makes greatness out of ordinary men.
The problem in life is that most people are not willing to put in the work required for plans and goals. Most people fail to prioritize and delay gratification. Most people want to eat their cake and also have it. That's where most of the hard work required for success is, and that's what prevents many people from attaining success.

Success is a mental attribute, therefore most of the work required to attain success is mental also. Of course physical work is what makes mental processes become real, so physical work cannot be discounted.
